A Night Out

A Night Out

One of my first attempts to paint something from nothing. The woman form has been done many times and many ways. This is my first attempt at creating an abstract painting where it only dealt with shapes and colors to create an image of the woman form. It depicts a story of a woman’s mundane life.

I remember using so many different types of brushes, colors and painters tape. I mixed my colors directly on the canvas and played around with different techniques of blending and mixing the pigments. I truly cut my teeth on this piece.

Winters Demise

Winters Demise

I kept seeing shadows as I was running in and out of my first studios. It was the end of winter and I pretty much had it with the snow and cold.

After February, I’m pretty much done with winter.

Big Lights Big City

Big Lights Big City

This painting started out completely different then what was intended. It started out as a dock with a couple of rotten posts. After many failed attempts of recreating the posts the painting became a cityscape. To get the right layout for the windows I cut up small white square pieces of paper to get my layout. Then I punched in the white paint.

Walk the Line

Walk the Line

I love the shapes and colors. One of the first of many…learning how to tape and create straight lines. The owner’s of this painting redid their bedroom around this painting. This truly is one of the best compliments I’ve received.
