The Blues

The Blues

Listening a lot of music and new blues artists.

I wanted to use one color and found myself gravitating to the color of blue. This painting pretty much painted itself. Long night and good music.

The Morning After

The Morning After

Looking through images on social media and came across this amazing photograph and I had to paint it. This became a series I did with 3 different photographers.

The Forest

The Forest

I was attending a funeral and a friend of mine came up to me and asked me if I think I could paint this pic he had on his phone. He has a place up north and on one of his trips out into the woods he found himself lying on forest floor looking up at the trees. The calmest he felt looking up at the trees was something he wanted to capture. This piece took a long time to paint because I kept messing up the layout of the trees and to cover black paint, with white, was daunting. Many times I had to paint and repaint areas. Many people, when seeing this painting, have told me it reminds them of a Rorschach test.

I just see trees.

Johnny Cash

Johnny Cash

I was due to paint another Musician. I just saw Walk The Line (the movie) and listened to some old Johnny Cash and wanted to recreate this iconic pose.

I Left My Heart

I Left My Heart

California is definitely something I always find myself thinking about. I wanted to paint a landmark and I saw this photograph and I new I had to paint it. I got a chance many years later and saw it in person. It didn’t disappoint.
